Rail (Cardiff Central Station)

High-speed InterCity trains link most cities with Cardiff. The journey time from London Paddington to Cardiff is under two hours.  Trains to and from Cardiff to London are approximately every 30 minutes during the day.

Visit the Train Line for train timetables and tickets bookable in advance (it is sometime cheaper to book single tickets rather than a return).

There is a taxi rank outside Cardiff Central Station. The fare from Cardiff Central will depend on which hotel you have booked.
The majority of hotels in the city centre are in walking distance of the station.

Coach (Cardiff Central)

National Express operates services to Cardiff from cities throughout the UK, including a flightlink service from Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
Megabus operates a low cost service to and from London. 

Car

Cardiff is right on the national motorway system. From the Midlands, the North of England and Scotland Cardiff is a straightforward drive via the M6, M5 and M50/M4. From the South and South West of England the approach is by M5 and M4. Access from West Wales and London is by M4.

Air (Cardiff Airport)

Cardiff International Airport is 11 miles from the city centre and the cost via taxi to the main University campus is approximately £28.00. A new Cardiff Airport Express bus service is available connecting Cardiff Airport with Cardiff City centre.

Checker cars is the official taxi operator for the airport, located outside the arrivals hall to the right as you exit the building. Taxis are available upon arrival, or can be booked in advance by e-mailing cardiff@checkercars.com  You need JavaScript enabled to view it or calling +44 (0)1446 711747. Checker cars are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Alternatively, you can book through the airport website.
